CHS-SAG MEETING WITH OKOFIA VIGILANTE GROUP

COMMUNIQUE OF THE MEETING WITH THE OKOFIA VIGILANTE GROUP AT THE OKOFIA VILLAGE HALL
The meeting began with greetings by the Sub-Dean, Students’ Affairs in person of Dr. C.K Oranusi and a formal introduction of the SAG officials present.
The Sub-Dean expressed the reason for the impromptu meeting which is the rising security problems within the Okofia community which is host to the students of the College.
The Okofia Vigilante Group through its Vice President pleaded with the College authorities and SAG to advise students to always be with their valid identity cards at night. He emphasized that in times past some students have being involved in these notorious security problems and pleaded that students be of good conduct especially at night, he also pleaded that students be advised to always be with their torchlights or rechargeable lamps at night to illuminate the roads as they pass by and not lights from phones. Then Vice President of the group pleaded with the school authorities, security, SAG and entire students to co-operate maximally with them so that more law offenders can be caught and brought to face the law.
The Chief Security Officer of the College promised the Okofia Vigilante Group of the College security’s support maximally and advised them to always carry out patrol of the Okofia community at night constantly. He however beckoned on the group to liaise with the landlords of every compound in the Community as that would be a stepping stone to tackling these security problems. He finally advised the group to always take note of porous points around the village.
The Vice President thanked all present for gracing the occasion and pleaded with the College authorities and SAG to always inform them of security challenges around as it would help strengthen the security ties between both parties.
The Sub-Dean assured them of the entire College’s co-operation and asked the group to give their numbers to the SAG which would disperse it to the students in case of any future security problems. He finally thanked the group for their time and for gracing the meeting.
